Message from INTACT America

Intact America

Dear Danielle,

Despite the fact that leaving babies intact is now the norm, the AAP is still considering revising its position on circumcision.
Send our Intact America team to next month's AAP conference so we can tell pediatricians to stop cutting our baby boys!
In just a few short weeks, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) will gather in San Francisco for its annual conference. Many members of the AAP Task Force on Circumcision — currently meeting to consider whether the AAP should recommend infant circumcision for all baby boys — will be at the conference.
Intact America needs to be there, too.
Time is of the essence. The circumcision rate in the U.S. has dropped to just 33%. Leaving babies intact is becoming the norm in this country, and we need to tell our pediatricians to wake up and listen to America's families. Parents are clearly getting the message that circumcision is medically unnecessary, harmful, and ethically wrong — and so should the medical community.
Please donate today and help us make sure the AAP hears us loud and clear: it's time to stop cutting our baby boys.
We need to fight back now, before it's too late.
The topic of infant circumcision is gaining wide exposure (witness the recent New York Times article; this week's coverage regarding a baby that was accidentally circumcised by a pediatrician in a Miami hospital; and Malawi's rejection of circumcision for AIDS prevention). The AAP conference is a crucial opportunity to build on this momentum. With your help, we'll be able to send a team from Intact America to San Francisco, where we will set up a high-visibility booth inside the AAP conference center. Being there in person means we can talk with pediatricians face to face, and remind them that it violates medical ethics to perform unnecessary, life-altering surgery on baby boys who cannot give their consent.
Danielle, we can't afford NOT to be there...but we can't do it without your help.
With your help, we can precent the AAP from recommending circumcision for America's baby boys.
As always, thank you so much for all that you do.
Sincerely,
Georganne Chapin
